The Time of Seeding

Despite its long time in existence, Elrond is a fledgling world when compared to others located on the Prime Material Plane. Created by the overseer god Ao for reasons unknown (though theories range from Elrond being established as an uncontrolled experiment to observe the development, or lack of, of balance to being created as a private paradise for the god itself), Elrond sat as a beautiful world full of lush forests, grand mountain ranges, vast deserts and fresh oceans- all untouched by the intelligence of malicious or honorable intent. The great intelligent beings that did populate the world, such as the “Dragon” and the “Leviathan,” were content with living in this conflict free environment.

It did not take long for the other gods to stumble upon this untouched paradise. The gods of the demi-human races were the first to take notice of the world and populated its surface with their followers. Elves, dwarves, gnomes and other demi-humans, both evil, good and neutral established themselves, created cities and began developing the world. Wars raged, lands changed hands but most of these races lacked the great ambition that was needed to bring dynamic change and those races that did have the level of ambition to do so were too few in number to bring it about. Despite the setbacks and advances between enemies and allies, the world maintained in a state of balance between the races. This was soon to change with the coming of the Humans.
