Footfalls on Elrond
Drakar's Journal- The Kingdom of Ghyr
It has been a long time since I last seen my homeland and even though I have seen many mighty cities during my travels outside the land of Zakhara, none have compared to my great City of Golden Huzuz. It stands like a jewel in a sea of pristine sparkling sand. Its buildings and minarets are graceful and elegant. In contrast, the architecture of these lands is unrefined and hideous. No beauty, no grace, only cold hard and ugly.
My travels has exposed me to many strange cultures and creatures and I am fortunate to be able to have these experiences as most people from my homeland would never step foot beyond Zakhara and never realize just how big and diverse the world is. I have vanquished foes the likes of which many of my peers will never have to face and I have walked lands, such as snow covered peaks and tropical rain forests, that are vastly different than the sand covered desert that I’m used to.
I now find myself in the kingdom of Ghyr and based on the condition of its structures and the size of its population, I believe that the kingdom has existed for some time. It is fortunate that I have made it to a population center of this size because I am low on funds and supplies and I will need to acquire more of both if I am to effectively continue my travels and investigations. Being self-sufficient, I have decided to answer an advertisement from the Queen of Ghyr requesting seasoned adventurers to undertake a quest of an unknown nature. I will meet with the Queen’s official tomorrow to learn the details. I hope that it pays well.
